ESPC Workshop at Mile Long Pier in Lorain Wednesday Sept 11th, 2019

We did something different this time. Instead of meeting at the Avon Lake Library, the club met at the Mile Long Pier in Lorain. On the way there it started to rain, I thought to myself this could be a big bust if it keeps this up. But our club weather man and fellow photographer Ron Combs assured us it was going to clear out. Turned out Ron was right. What a beautiful evening it ended up being. Skies cleared, sun came out, and there was a nice gentle breeze. The almost full moon made an appearance. Also, an appearance of a passing storm north of us gave us some opportunities for some lighting shots. What a fantastic turnout from the Erie Shores members. I’m sure everyone has heard “That picture again” , but yes, we want to do it again. There is a photographer named Bob Bodner who is at the pier almost every night, doing what he loves to do. I would be disappointed not seeing his pictures on Facebook from the night before. Bottom line, get out and shoot, weather it’s the same old place or somewhere new.

Phoebe was telling everyone to send a couple of their favorite pictures of the night to her and they would be posted on the web site. WARNING you may see a couple pictures of the same lighthouse. All from a different perspective, or view, but all will be beautiful. Final part of the night Phoebe and Bill Naiman wanted to capture a few more lighting shots. I think we all lost a pint of blood from the mosquitoes.

See the photos from the Pier here.
