Natalie started the meeting asking if we had any new visitors or members and Dennis Bean from North Olmsted raised his hand.
When asked what was his photog interests were he stated, all over.
Welcome Dennis!
Natalie got a request from the cleaning lady to empty the water bottles before throwing them in the trash. So please drink up that water or be mindful to empty them prior to throwing them away. It will be much appreciated.
Natalie felt that when she answered the questions last week regarding the time it took her weekly as President that she had not answered fairly. It all matters on what is going on in the Club, so it could be from 2-3 hours a week to 7 or more hours. Due to some future Family obligations, she will not run this year.
Anne Huber brought up the Lorain County Fair will be here before you know it.
It runs from August 19-25. She will be looking for volunteers to set up
August 18th and looking for images to enter. She will let us know when she receives more info so keep those dates available if you want to have some fun that week.
Marilyn Giannuzzi let us know that the presentation of our photos at the Carlisle Reservation will be sometime in June.
The theme is: Nature without the hand of man .
Your photos should be taken outdoors & devoted to displaying natural elements such as landscapes, wildlife, plants, flowers & close-ups of natural scenes & textures. All photos must be framed with overall sizes no smaller than 8x10 or no larger than 24x30. In the past, they required photos to have a wire hanger, not a sawtooth hanger. You may have photos printed on canvas as long as it fits with the Nature theme. ~~~~We need 40 photos for this show so please go through all your beautiful nature images & see which ones will be appropriate for our Nature theme. The date will follow. She said the images can be sold if you want. More info will come.
There will be a Vietnam Veteran Traveling wall in Wellington from
July 11-15th. We will try to get more information on this if anyone is interested. I went to the one in Parma and it was a humbling experience.
Phoebe Scholl brought up that we are still looking for a President for the Club next year. I heard from a reliable source last night that JP Waldron will run.
Nick Resar is looking for a person to act as a backup and handle partial responsibility for the competition images for next year. If you are interested, please speak with Nick Resar.
The Judges for the March Competition were Joe Applebaum, Autumn Skoczen and Jeannette Palsa. Unfortunately, Autumn and Jeanette were unable to attend. Thank you to Tony Psaltis and Pete Esposito for volunteering to read their critiques. You did a great job!
Thank you to the Judges for taking the time to view and critique.
It was so good to hear so many people placed. Be mindful that judging is a subjective critique of your work so remember to listen to what they have to say as a guide to make it better but in the end, it is your image.
As you know, this is one of my favorite nights in Club to view everyone's submissions. Wonderful evening!!!
